A new, operatic spectacle by Simone Spagnolo

This contemporary take on Goethe's/Marlowe's story of Doctor Faustus by award-winning composer Simone Spagnolo is commissioned by Opera in the City Festival, and will premiere on 3rd September 2018 as highlight of this years' UNDERWORLD season. The opera is scored for two singers and four musicians, and will have a running time of approximately 75 minutes.
The production will be fully staged and directed by Pamela Schermann

Casting breakdown
We are looking for two classically trained baritones, basses or bass-baritones with strong acting skills. Any playing age and ethnicity.

3rd, 5th, 7th and 8th September 2018 at Bridewell Theatre, London.

21st August - 1st September & 3 days of R&D in July (dates for the R&D tbc/flexible for the right candidate)


Saturday 10th February in London, time and venue tbc. Please prepare a post-1900 piece of a lyric nature, preferably in English. In addition, there will be a short excerpt of Simone Spagnolo’s work and a speech to prepare, which will be sent upon invitation.
